Bird Watching Cycle Tour - Shan Pui River

It's happy to hear that really have people waiting for the update. Thanks for your support my friend!

This time I will show you the most popular way for bird watching - Shan Pui River.

The river between Nam Sang Wai Road and Pok Wai South Road is Kam Tin River. 

Just stay on the road and look out to Kam Tin River.

At the two river meeting point ( Kam Tin River & Shan Pui River ), you can also see Mai Po Wetlands.

I think this photo already prove how good is this place for bird watching.

The end of Nam Sang Wai Road, here is Nam Sang Wai.

For bicycle tour, if you don't want to return by the same way, you may keep on by a small road.

At the end of the small road, you need to cross a small river by a small boat.

A small boat in the southern part of Nam Sang Wai serves as a traditional ferry transportation across the Kam Tin River towards the village of Shan Pui Tsuen, north of Yuen Long Kau Hui.

Seems that long time didn't update this blog. As this blog actually was create for our Degree Course Project, therefore, after finish the presentation for the project then nothing update anymore.

However, seems still many people come to visit our blog for Mai Po Wetland, no matter search for Mai Po Wetland or Mai Po Cycling. I still believe I should finish the whole "Mai Po Wetland Cycling" tour guideline.

According to my previous Mai Po Wetland Map. This time I would like to introduce to you how to go to visit the place in "Purple Star" in the map.

Mai Po Wetlands Bicycle Adventure - Part 2 米埔濕地單車遊歷 - 第二節

This time again starting point will be the same as Mai Po Wetland Bicycle Tour (Part 3), the intersection point to Pok Wai South Road.

All the way go through Pok Wai South Road.

Until the end of the road, you may need to ride through this small road as below photo show.

Not more than 2 mins., you will see the river on your right hand side. And the "Mai Po Nature Reserve" was just there.

Mai Po Wetlands Bicycle Adventure - Part 1 米埔濕地單車遊歷 - 第一節

As mentioned in the previous post, this time we will bring you to a secret place. You can enjoy sunset, and watch birds, also watch the wetlands animals closely.

The first post for bicycle tour in our blog, we teach you how to go to Mai Po Nature Reserve Entrance from Yuen Long.

The second post, we teach you how to get closer to Mai Po Nature Reserve with advanced level of bicycle tools.

This post, we are going to teach you not the easiest, also not the advanced level of bicycle tour to visit Mai Po Wetlands. The destination is at the above map with ORANGE star.

Mai Po Wetland Area

After receiving some comments, seems that we had got a problem! This post is to identify where is "Mai Po Wetland" and its area.

•  Located in northwestern part of Hong Kong

          - Includes Mai Po and Deep Bay

 

 

-The area pink in color are all "Mai Po Wetland" area.

 

Total area about 1,500 hectares , 380 hectares of "Mai Po Nature Reserve" managed by the World Wild Fund of Natur (WWF), assisted by the Agriculture and Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD).

You need to apply a permit to get into the "Mai Po Nature Reserve". Not much people know except the nature reserve, still have many place around Mai Po can enjoy birds watching, or cycling.

Below map showing the place surounding Mai Po Wetland which visitors can easily visit. 

At the previous post, we had introduce how to go to "Pink" and "Red" star. We will introduce how to visit "Orange", "Blue", "Purple", and "Green" star locations.

Mai Po Bicycle Tour (Advanced) - LAST 米埔單車遊 (進階) -總結

After crossing the floating bridge, here is already "Mai Po Nature Reserve" Area.

 No car, no air pollutions, only birds and other animals.

You can enjoy the beautiful sunset.

On the right hand side, the way to east, you can walk to the entrance of the "Mai Po Nature Reserve".



Kindly remind that you may walk around the "Mai Po Nature Reserve" only if you have register the Reserve Permit. If you don't, you need to return to the floating bridge.

Otherwise,

Contravention may lead to conviction and a fine of HKD 50000.
